More Americans than ever before are getting plastic surgery, and many are opting for noninvasive procedures that provide enhancements without requiring a long recovery time or even the tiniest of incisions.

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the leading organization for aesthetic plastic surgery, recently released data for 2014 which showed that non-surgical fat reduction procedures rose 43 percent in 2014. More than 100,000 of these procedures were performed last year.

And perhaps most interesting is that many women- fueled by the popularity of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj- are getting their butts enhanced in pursuit of the perfect hourglass figure. Butt augmentations rose by a whopping 86 percent last year. The Brazilian Butt Lift, a procedure that involves transferring fat from one area of the body into the buttocks, rose 15 percent to more than 11,000 procedures between 2013 and 2014, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Buttocks enhancement through augmentation with implants also increased, by an amazing 98 percent to 1,863 procedures, and buttock lifts rose by 44 percent to 3,505 procedures, according to ASAPS.

Aside from enhancements to the body, we’re also seeing a rise in minimally invasive skin procedures. Botox, fillers, chemical peels and laser hair removal were the most popular of these procedures in 2014.

Here at Aesthetic Enhancements, more patients are coming to us for minimally invasive procedure for the skin and body than ever before. One of the most popular right now isCoolSculpting, a treatment that has been around for several years but has seen impressive growth as it has become possible to safely treat more areas of the body.

The Coolsculpting procedure involves using suction and cooling plates to freeze the body’s fat cells. The fat cells then crystallize and die within the body, which reabsorbs and sheds them over the next few weeks. About 25 percent of the fat cells within the areas targeted are destroyed during each CoolSculpting treatment.

Compared to liposuction, CoolSculpting takes away the need for anesthesia, recovery time, and the need for you to wear compression garments- as well as lowering the overall cost of treatment for the majority of patients. Like other minimally invasive procedures, CoolSculpting has great benefits for patients who want to enhance their appearance in a meaningful way without surgery.

As the ASAPS results indicate, more people want convenience without sacrificing great results when it comes to cosmetic procedures. My guess is that this trend will continue to gather momentum as more patients are successfully treated and our technology and experience grow.
