Hollywood starlets never seem to age.
Look at 74-year old Raquel Welch, 80-year-old Sophia Loren or even 56-year-old Michelle Pfeiffer, and you’ll think they’ve discovered the fountain of eternal youth and just haven’t shared the secret with the rest of us.
Jennifer Aniston, 45, could definitely be in their company. The actress, who had millions of women running to the beauty salon in 1990s to copy her haircut, hasn’t seemed to age a bit since Americans first came to know her as part of the hit TV show, “Friends.”
Aniston recently shared the secret to her youthful glow with InStyle Magazine, telling them she hasn’t had plastic surgery, but loves laser treatments.
“I just take care of my skin, eat well, exercise,” she said. “And I love lasers and [other noninvasive treatments like] Thermage [radio frequency] and Ultherapy [ultrasound]. I also like a good microcurrent facial.”
She also said basic sleep and water have helped her maintain great skin, as has seeing a naturopathic doctor who recommended taking fish oil and a probiotic.
Eating well and getting enough rest are key ingredients to healthy skin, but even women with great genes—like Jennifer Aniston—put a little extra effort into maintaining their glow. FDA-approved, noninvasive treatments are becoming more popular. According to theAmerican Society of Plastic Surgeons, Americans over age 55 underwent more than 3.4 million noninvasive procedures in 2013. At Aesthetic Enhancements, we’re seeing more people explore this option because they’re looking for ways to enhance their appearance without the long recovery time. In addition to popular procedures such as Botox, many people have opted for Ultherapy, a 60-90 minute treatment that is FDA-approved to tighten areas of the skin. They’re also exploring treatments with our new micro-fractional CO2 laser, which is FDA-approved to minimize the appearance of brown spots and scarring with a faster recovery.
No matter what your age, your skin should be healthy. Good skin certainly starts from the inside out—what you put into your body may be more important than anything else. But certain noninvasive treatments can help to improve the appearance of your skin. So eat well, drink plenty of water and pamper yourself every once in awhile. If it works for Jennifer Aniston, it may just work for the rest of us.
